We are very sad to report that, on the morning of 11 August 2009, Arthur Ferdinand ("Ferd") Cohen passed away at his home in Americus, GA after a long battle with prostate cancer. He was 73 years old. Ferd was the husband of Mildred ("Millie") Gwendolyn Johnson Cohen, daughter of David Glenn and Vaunita Oswald Johnson (Uncle "Dave" and Aunt Vaunita). Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, 14 August 2009 at Calvary Episcopal Church in Americus, Aldridge Funeral Home directing.

Ferd is survived by his wife Mildred, three children - son David Louis Cohen (and wife Michelle "Shelley"), son David Patton Cohen (and wife Jennifer), and daughter Vaunita Lynn ("Nita") Cohen and by six grandchildren - Laura Kathryn, Gwendolyn Lynn, Jeanne Marie, Spencer, Samantha, and Jeffery Seth Cohen. Ferd was proceeded in death by his grandson David Louis Cohen, Jr..

The family requests that memorials may be made to Calvary Episcopal Church (408 South Lee Street, Americus, GA 31709), the American Cancer Society, the American Diabetes Association, or to the charity of one's choice in Ferd's memory.
